Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place



Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place is a community based program, of Hale Na‘au Pono, providing family strengthening and support services to families and resources on the Wai‘anae Coast.

Vision
Let the Wai‘anae Coast be a place where all keiki are assured of happy and hopeful lives by their caregivers. Let it be a place that empowers caring, safe and healthy foundations for every family. And finally, let it be a place where we ho‘ohiki (keep the promise) to our keiki that they are the Future.

Mission
Let Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place be a place for ‘ohana to work together and acknowledge the unique cultures, values, contributions and strengths of everyone. We seek to build a nurturing, stable and courageous community for all keiki to safely live the best lives possible- culturally, spiritually, academically and economically.

Who we are...
The “Neighborly Place” that is open to all in the Wai‘anae community…Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place is a physical site that acts as a resource hub for families, aiming at strengthening, educating, and supporting them and with service providers, partnering and referring to existing services on the Wai‘anae Coast.

What is family strengthening? Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place strives to embrace parents by giving support, assistance, resources, opportunities and encouragement to successfully raise their children.

How is this achieved? Through Family Outreach or Community Outreach, Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place builds the capacity of at risk families to provide for the safety of children. Serving as a neutral hub for service coordination and community building; works for positive changes that reduces environmental and social risk factors and increases protective factors; while providing access to resources, both concrete and informational, and support without judgment.

Who is eligible? Ka Wahi Kaiaulu-Wai‘anae Neighborhood Place is open to all families on the Wai‘anae Coast. We provide referral information of service providers and other various resources.

• Information, referral and linkage to Wai‘anae Coast community resources and when necessary, beyond the Wai‘anae Coast.
• Service coordination and advocacy
• Basic life skill building
• Informal counseling and coaching
• Parent and family activities, monitoring and follow up
• Home visits
• A “talk story” approach

What services do you provide for the community?
